  • On 1/17/2011, MSPD responded to Rite Aid pharmacy regarding a person attempting to pass an altered prescription. MSPD contacted Amanda Woods, age 19, of Mt. Shasta. After an investigation, it was determined that Amanda altered a prescription given to her earlier in the day. Amanda was arrested for – Forged or altered prescriptions. Amanda was transported to Siskiyou County Jail to be booked

  • On 1-18-11 the Mt. Shasta Police Department took a report of a burglary at Trading Places thrift store. Unknown suspect/s forced the front door to the business open and took approximately $5 in quarters from the till. The case is currently under investigation.
  • On 1-18-11 the Mt. Shasta Police Department took a report of a burglary at Petals flower shop. Suspect/s broke a window and took approximately 8 potted plants. The case is currently under investigation. Anyone with information contact the Mt. Shasta Police Department.
  • On 1-18-11 the Mt. Shasta Police Department took a report of vehicle versus pedestrian accident in the Ray's Food Place parking lot. Minor injuries were reported.
  • On 1-18-11 the Mt. Shasta Police Department took a report of a traffic collision that occurred on S. Mt. Shasta Blvd. in front of Berrvale Market. No injuries were reported.

  • On 01/19/2011, officers responded to Chen and Lees Restaurant regarding a customer leaving out the back door without paying.  22-year-old transient Travis Henry was contacted approximately 2 blocks away because he fit the description of the suspect.  Henry was subsequently arrested and booked into the county jail for burglary.

  • On Thursday, 01/20/2011, Angela Sheets, manager at the Shasta View Ranch Apartments, reported that someone had keyed her 2011 Kia Sorento SUV while it was parked  in the carport at the apartment complex. MSPD filed a vandalism report.
  • On Thursday, 01/20/2011, a Mt Shasta resident reported the theft of heating oil from his oil tank. The thefts occurred over several months from the 300 block of Ida St. MSPD filed a grand theft report.  RESIDENTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO LOCK FUEL TANKS and to report any suspicious activity immediately to the the police department.
