1/17/11 - 1/23/11 Press Release

  • On 1/17/2011, MSPD responded to Rite Aid pharmacy regarding a person attempting to pass an altered prescription. MSPD contacted Amanda Woods, age 19, of Mt. Shasta. After an investigation, it was determined that Amanda altered a prescription given to her earlier in the day. Amanda was arrested for – Forged or altered prescriptions. Amanda was transported to Siskiyou County Jail to be booked

  • On 1-18-11 the Mt. Shasta Police Department took a report of a burglary at Trading Places thrift store. Unknown suspect/s forced the front door to the business open and took approximately $5 in quarters from the till. The case is currently under investigation.
  • On 1-18-11 the Mt. Shasta Police Department took a report of a burglary at Petals flower shop. Suspect/s broke a window and took approximately 8 potted plants. The case is currently under investigation. Anyone with information contact the Mt. Shasta Police Department.
  • On 1-18-11 the Mt. Shasta Police Department took a report of vehicle versus pedestrian accident in the Ray's Food Place parking lot. Minor injuries were reported.
  • On 1-18-11 the Mt. Shasta Police Department took a report of a traffic collision that occurred on S. Mt. Shasta Blvd. in front of Berrvale Market. No injuries were reported.

  • On 01/19/2011, officers responded to Chen and Lees Restaurant regarding a customer leaving out the back door without paying.  22-year-old transient Travis Henry was contacted approximately 2 blocks away because he fit the description of the suspect.  Henry was subsequently arrested and booked into the county jail for burglary.

  • On Thursday, 01/20/2011, Angela Sheets, manager at the Shasta View Ranch Apartments, reported that someone had keyed her 2011 Kia Sorento SUV while it was parked  in the carport at the apartment complex. MSPD filed a vandalism report.
  • On Thursday, 01/20/2011, a Mt Shasta resident reported the theft of heating oil from his oil tank. The thefts occurred over several months from the 300 block of Ida St. MSPD filed a grand theft report.  RESIDENTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO LOCK FUEL TANKS and to report any suspicious activity immediately to the the police department.

1/10/11 - 1/16/11 Press Release

12/24/10
  • On 12/24/2010, 67-year-old John Pryshepa, of Gazelle, reported that his 92 Ford Explorer had been entered and gone through while parked at Mercy Hospital between 12/09 and 12/24.  Approximately $5.00 in quarters was missing
1/11/11
  • On 01/11/11, the department responded to 205 S. Mt. Shasta Blvd for a report of vandalism.  A building door was found to have red, graffiti-type, spray-painting on it. No suspects were found in the area.
  • LOST PROPERTY - ladies wallet, forest green, somewhere between Chase Bank and  Burger King
1/12/11
  • On 1-12-11 the Mt. Shasta Police Department responded to an attempted suicide. A 25 year old male was taken to Mercy Medical Center for treatment and mental health evaluation after stabbing himself multiple times in the chest, arms and legs.
  • LOST PROPERTY - Canon camera and iPod, in sonicare toothbrush case
1/14/11
  • On 1/14/2011 MSPD officers responded to Sisson Elementary School after being notified of suspicious juveniles in the area.  Two juveniles were arrested for public intoxication and possession of marijuana.  The juveniles were cited and released to their parents.
  • LOST PROPERTY - Opal (blue) dangle earring
1/15/11
  • On 1/15/11 MSPD responded to a vehicle fire at Spring/Ivy.  After a short investigation, 48 year old David Duran from Mt Shasta was arrested for DUI.

1/3/11 - 1/9/11 Press Release

12/25/11
  • On 12/25/2010 MSPD receieved a report of an assault that occurred at the Vet's Club. The victim, Matthias Ribb, of Mt. Shasta, stated he was assaulted by Matthew Camp, 26 of Mt. Shasta. A report was taken and forwarded to the Siskiyou County District Attorneys Office.
1/7/11
  • On 01/07/2011, MSPD responded to the 600 Block of Berry street for a report of a disturbance. Aaron Hatch, and Becky Trevino were involved in a fight. Neither party wanted to pursue charges. A report was taken on the incident.
1/8/11
  • On 1/08/2011 officers arrested Nathaniel Newlon on two outstanding warrants out of Siskiyou County Superior Court.
  • FOUND - Tan chihuahua with spike collar.
  • FOUND - female Airdale, on I-5.
1/9/11
  • On 01/09/2011 MSPD contacted Robert Simon.  Simon had an outstanding $15,000 warrant.  He was arrested for the warrant and transported to Siskiyou County Jail.

12/27/10 - 1/2/11 Press Release

12/29/10
  • On 12/29/2010, the department responded to The Woodsman Hotel regarding an intoxicated subject yelling and acting aggressively.  After a short investigation, 43-year-old Dennis Prescott, of Cottonwood was arrested for public intoxication and booked into the county jail. 
  • LOST PROPERTY - blue cookie monster wallet, trifold.
  • LOST PROPERTY - black AT&T go phone, flip.
12/30/10
  • On Thursday, 12/30/2010, MSPD responded to a call from Kevin Brooks at Ramshaw's Tow reporting a vehicle missing from the impound / storage yard on Nixon Rd. The vehicle, a green 1998 Suzuki Esteem station wagon with Oregon license plates, had been towed and stored on 12/13/2010. When the owner showed up at the tow company to re-claim his vehicle on 12/30/2010, the vehicle was not in the storage yard and could not be located. A stolen vehicle report was filed and an investigation was initiated.

  • LOST PROPERTY - Keys with house key and dodge emblem.
12/31/10
  • On Friday, 12/31/2010, MSPD arrested 21 year old Jason Crabtree of Mt Shasta for passing a forged check and burglary. Crabtree was booked into Siskiyou County Jail.
    MSPD also arrested 19 year old Gregg Sayers of Mt Shasta for possession of marijuana. Sayers was cited and released.
