4/25/11 - 5/1/11 Press Release

4/9/11
  • On 04/09/2011 officers arrested Edsel Scott Lewis, age 49, at Centennial Park behind Black Bear Restaurant for public intoxication.  Edsel was transported to Siskiyou County Jail.
4/25/11
  • On 4/25/11 officers responded to Mercy ER on a report of a disturbance.  Upon arrival Diane M Miller, age 55 out of Iowa, was arrested for public intoxication and transported to Siskiyou County Jail.
  • On 4/25/11, at approximately 1518 hours, officers were dispatched to Siskiyou Muffler Service for a report of possible identity theft.  Teresa Ray stated that a Chase credit card had been activated in the name of the business, listing a female out of Cleveland, TN as an authorized user.  The woman was contacted and stated that she had received the credit card from a man in Nigeria.  Cleveland City PD was contacted and assisted in recovering the fraudulent cards.

4/26/11
  • On 4/26/11 MSPD stopped a vehicle for erratic driving on W Lake St.  The officer found the driver, Giancarlo Anro, age 18 of Dunsmuir; and passenger Alden Silber, age 21 of Dunsmuir, to both be in the possession of marijuana.  Both were issued citations for possession of less than an ounce of marijuana and given a court date in June.
  • FOUND - cell phone at Sisson.  Owner contacted, returned
4/27/11
  • On 4/27/11 at approximately 1800 hours MSPD was contacted by Scott Collins of Collins Collision reporting that his 2005 Toyota Tacoma was missing.  Collins reported that his vehicle was last seen around 1700 hours when his employees left for the day.  A stolen vehicle report was taken and a BOLO sent out to other local agencies.  The Siskiyou County Sheriffs Office reported that they were responding to McCloud for a report of theft and that the vehicle associated matched our stolen vehicle.  At approximately 1900 hours Redding CHP stopped the vehicle outside Burney.  The suspect, Stephen Nebres Goldstien, age 37 from Seattle, WA was taken into custody and the vehicle returned to Collins.
  • LOST - Set of keys.  Has American flag key and a dark blue key with a moon on it (custom keys).  Lost near Alma/Chestnut
4/29/11
  • On 4/29/11 MSPD responded to a report of a hit and run traffic collision in front of Lily's Restaurant.  The suspect vehicle was discovered near The Billy Goat Tavern.  The driver, Gabriel Hoff, age 35 from Dusmuir CA, was cited for hit and run property damage and failure to carry evidence of financial responsibility. 
4/30/11
  • On 4/30/11 at approximately 0100 hours, MSPD received a complaint regarding a suspicious vehicle continually driving past a residence and yelling.  The vehicle was stopped at Sports and Spirits.  Tabatha Nicole Reece, age 23 of Bakersfield CA was cited for providing false identification to peace officers. 
5/1/11
  • On 5/1/2011 MSPD made a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Gabriel Lopez, age 35 of Woodland Hills CA. Gabriel was in possession of a controlled substance. Gabriel was arrested and booked into the Siskiyou County Jail.

4/18/11 - 4/24/11 Press Release

4/18/11
  • On 4-18-2011 at 1900 hours, officers responded to a man with a gun who was threatening to shoot men and children at 901 Morris. Officer’s determined it to be a wooden stick and arrested Sebastion Christophe Chesnel, age 32 of Mt Shasta, for being drunk in public. 
  • FOUND - Money wrapped in Rite Aid Receipt, in front of Rite Aid
4/19/11
  • On 04/19/2011 Mt. Shasta Police Dept assisted Camarillo Police Dept in an outside agency assist of a missing person.  Glen Allan Meador, age 57 of Camarillo California was entered into the NCIC Missing Persons Database.
  • On 4/19/11, MSPD was dispatched to a residence on Ski Bowl Dr for a report of a possible burglary.  After a search of the residence was conducted it was determined that there was damage to the garage door and an inside door; but no items seemed to have been taken from the residence.  The vandalism had occurred sometime within the last two months.
  • On 04-19-2011 Mt. Shasta Police Dept pulled over a vehicle at Lake St and Morgan Way.  The driver was cited for driving on a suspended drivers license and for possession of less then an once of Marijuana.
  • On 4/19/2011 Mt. Shasta Police Dept responded to a vehicle vs. pedestrian traffic collision on S Mt Shasta Blvd/Smith St.  The victim, Karen Bruno, age 34 of Mt Shasta, was taken to Mercy Mt. Shasta for her injuries. The driver, William Mariner, age 62 of Mt Shasta, was cited for failure to use due caution and his drivers license was suspended pending a DMV re-evaluation.

  • LOST - Yellow nylon velcro wallet, possibly near Dos Geckos or Public Parking behind Burger Express

  • On 3-18-11 the Mt. Shasta Police Department took a report of a hit and run collision in the Sports and Spirits parking lot. No injuries were reported and the case is currently being investigated.

  • On 04/11/11, 38-year-old Aleksander Balos, of Mt. Shasta, reported that someone had opened a bank account using his social security number and the account was overdrawn.  A case was taken for identity theft.

  • On 04/12/2011, the department took a report of a burglary at 115 Ida St.  A wood-grain, .410 caliber Mossberg, pump-action shotgun was reported stolen from the residence, during an unknown time period.  The suspect(s) made entry through an unlocked second story window.

  •  On 4-13-2011 officers responded to a disturbance at 511 Chestnut Street. Officers arrested Randal Travis Peck for being drunk in public.

  • FOUND - set of keys jade emblem, in front of Papa Murphys

  • On 4/17/2011, Cody Joseph Baxter, 27 years old from Mt Shasta, was cited for driving with a suspended/revoked license.
