1/31/11 - 2/6/11 Press Release

 1/24/11
  • On 01/24/2011 officers received a phone call from a female in Redding reporting that her credit card was stolen in redding and used at the Best Western in Mt. Shasta. Redding Police Dept was contacted regarding the information and an outside agency reports was taken as a courtesy.
1/31/11
  • On Monday, 01/31/2011, an employee from Parks & Recreation notified MSPD that someone had vandalized one of the baseball dugouts at Shastice Park. MSPD found a large amount of graffiti writing on the walls and benches in the dugout. Parks & Recreation removed the graffiti and repainted the dugout.  Anyone with information regarding the vandalism or anyone that witnesses any suspicious activity or persons is asked to call MSPD at 926-7540.
  • On 1-3-11 the Mt. Shasta Police Department took a report of battery that occurred during a child exchange. Information was taken and is being filed with the district attorney's office.
2/1/11
  • On 02/01/2011, MSPD arrested 32 year old Danielle Nicole McCullough of Weed for forging / passing a forged prescription at Pharmacy Express in Mt Shasta. McCullough was booked in the Siskiyou County Jail.
2/3/11
  • Arson investigation started for fire behind Rays Shopping Center.  Anyone with information, please contact MSFD.
2/4/11
  • On 02/04/2011, MSPD responded to a report of a vandalism to a vehicle. The victims refused to file charges, however the suspect, Paul J. Fischer was contacted and determined to be under the influence of alcohol. Fischer was arrested for violation of probation and booked into the county jail.
2/6/11
  • On 2/6/2011 MSPD responded to 112 Sheldon regarding a back door that was pried open. The door was pried open by an unknown object. There were no reported missing items. MSPD took a case for attempt burglary and vandalism.
  • On 2/6/2011, MSPD responded to Mt. Shasta Laundry and Car Wash, regarding graffiti on the building. MSPD took a case for vandalism.
  • FOUND- white female aussie kelpie/whippet mix
  • LOST - mens black wallet

1/24/11-1/30/11 Press Release

1/22/11
  • On 01/22/2011, MSPD arrested Jason Crabtree for trespassing on C&K market property behind Do It Best Hardware. Crabtree was cited and released.
  • On 01/22/2011, MSPD was notified that someone had vandalized the rear of the Do It Best Hardware at 128 Morgan Way. Officers found freshly spray painted graffiti letters on the building wall. A vandalism report was filed.
1/24/11
  • On 1/24/2011 at approximately 1820 hours, officers responded to a theft at the Woodsman Hotel. Taken was a carved statue of a Sailor, approximately 5 foot tall. 
  •  On 01/24/2011 @ approximately 2020 hours, officers contacted a male subject that was attacked while sleeping behind the black bear. Jason Crabtree and a juvenile were arrested for assault with a deadly weapon, battery, and violation of probation.
  • LOST PROPERTY - set of keys, no key chain, with approx 30 keys in Ray's parking lot

1/17/11 - 1/23/11 Press Release

  • On 1/17/2011, MSPD responded to Rite Aid pharmacy regarding a person attempting to pass an altered prescription. MSPD contacted Amanda Woods, age 19, of Mt. Shasta. After an investigation, it was determined that Amanda altered a prescription given to her earlier in the day. Amanda was arrested for – Forged or altered prescriptions. Amanda was transported to Siskiyou County Jail to be booked
1/18
  • On 1-18-11 the Mt. Shasta Police Department took a report of a burglary at Trading Places thrift store. Unknown suspect/s forced the front door to the business open and took approximately $5 in quarters from the till. The case is currently under investigation.
  • On 1-18-11 the Mt. Shasta Police Department took a report of a burglary at Petals flower shop. Suspect/s broke a window and took approximately 8 potted plants. The case is currently under investigation. Anyone with information contact the Mt. Shasta Police Department.
  • On 1-18-11 the Mt. Shasta Police Department took a report of vehicle versus pedestrian accident in the Ray's Food Place parking lot. Minor injuries were reported.
  • On 1-18-11 the Mt. Shasta Police Department took a report of a traffic collision that occurred on S. Mt. Shasta Blvd. in front of Berrvale Market. No injuries were reported.

  • On 01/19/2011, officers responded to Chen and Lees Restaurant regarding a customer leaving out the back door without paying.  22-year-old transient Travis Henry was contacted approximately 2 blocks away because he fit the description of the suspect.  Henry was subsequently arrested and booked into the county jail for burglary.

  • On Thursday, 01/20/2011, Angela Sheets, manager at the Shasta View Ranch Apartments, reported that someone had keyed her 2011 Kia Sorento SUV while it was parked  in the carport at the apartment complex. MSPD filed a vandalism report.
  • On Thursday, 01/20/2011, a Mt Shasta resident reported the theft of heating oil from his oil tank. The thefts occurred over several months from the 300 block of Ida St. MSPD filed a grand theft report.  RESIDENTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO LOCK FUEL TANKS and to report any suspicious activity immediately to the the police department.
